Over the generations, she has benefited from contributions from other British dogs imported into Australia: Skye Terrier, Scottish Terrier, Dandie Dinmont Terrier, Yorkshire Terrier … The first dogs to be bred according to standards close to those in force in These days have been in the early 19th century, mainly in Tasmania. the Australian terrier remains subject to permanent and moderate moulting , during which the dog sheds very little hair. Its maintenance is simple , basic and not very restrictive, its rustic aspect had to be maintained.
It is recommended to brush the dog once a week to ensure the maintenance of its coat and its natural beauty. It can be bathed occasionally, only if it is really necessary. His skin, ears, eyes and pads should be examined systematically after outings to prevent debris and parasites.
His teeth need to be brushed frequently to remove tartar build-up and the proliferation of bacteria. Finally, if they do not wear out naturally, its claws need to be cut. If you are new to this, it is recommended that you seek advice from a veterinarian or groomer.
