History of the breed
The Cavalier King Charles Spaniel is known since the 16th century in England. He was one of the favorite dogs of the English royal court and was, moreover, named in reference to King Charles II who was particularly fond of this breed. By the early 19th century, King Charles Spaniel received contributions from King Charles Spaniel, the Pekingese and Carlin to lead to the current characteristics of the breed. The 1st standard of the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel was established in 1928.
The breed club was founded at the same time in Great Britain and the breed was recognized by the Kennel Club in 1945. For its part, the Fédération Cynologique Internationale (FCI) gave it definitive recognition 10 years later. , January 20, 1955. Its official FCI standard in force was published on November 4, 2008. In France, the first representatives of the breed arrived in 1975.

Physical features
His hair: long silky, characterized by abundant fringes and can be slightly wavy.

His body: well proportioned. The neck is moderately long and slightly arched, the back straight, the kidney short and the ribs well sprung.
Its tail: of length in proportion to that of the body, well set on, carried cheerfully, but without going beyond the line of the back.
