Belgian Shepherd Laekenois

The Belgian Shepherd Laekenois forms, with the Malinois, the Groenendael and the Tervueren, the great family of Belgian Shepherd dogs. It differs from them mainly by its harsh and coarse coat. Medioligne, of harmonious and powerful construction, it is a rustic and robust dog. He is the rarest Belgian dog. He has many qualities similar to his cousins, such as loyalty, frankness, intelligence. He is also sporty and lively, but knows how to be calm when the situation calls for it. An excellent life companion, he is also a very good protective dog, guard dog and working dog.

He will watch wonderfully over his master, his adoptive family and the children he will have in his care. He is very playful with them. This temperament goes hand in hand with his lively , bold side . He is always alert, sometimes calm but maybe too exuberant.

Education

Clever
Obedient

Like other varieties of Belgian Shepherd, the   Belgian Shepherd Laekenois is educated with a balanced mix of firmness and softness . His intelligence makes him learn easily , but his assertive character requires, on the part of the teacher, that he shows him the limits not to cross as soon as possible. Indeed, the Laekenois, like all Belgian shepherds, is particularly sensitive .

His intelligence will make him obey quite easily . His education is therefore quite simple. He should be socialized at a very young age so that he does not see the presence of a child as a concern and that he can cohabit as well as possible with his peers.
