History of the breed

As the name suggests, the Manchester Terrier is from the north of England and more specifically the Mancunian region in the mid-19th century, dog shows were frequently organized in pubs. The Manchester Terrier was specifically used for hunting rats and other pests , showing itself to be particularly effective in this area.

the   Manchester Terrier   is a dog that hardly sheds and therefore loses very little hair. As a result, and in addition to its small size, its maintenance does not present any particular constraint . It only requires basic care which should in no case be neglected.

It is recommended to brush the dog once a week and to regularly pass a rubber glove over his coat to catch dead hair and debris. Regular inspection of your skin helps prevent infections and parasites. Its ears, eyes, claws and pads also need to be examined and maintained regularly.

His teeth need to be brushed frequently to remove tartar build-up and the proliferation of bacteria. Finally, if they do not wear out naturally, its claws need to be cut. If you are new to this, it is recommended that you seek advice from a veterinarian or groomer.
