History of the breed

The origins of Griffon Bleu de Gascogne are very old and are located in the Pyrenees region . The breed was developed from the cross between the medium sized Chien Bleu de Gascogne and a Griffon . The Griffon Bleu de Gascogne almost disappeared, but the breed has seen a resurgence of interest in recent years thanks to the efforts of passionate breeders.

It was definitively recognized by the Fédération Cynologique Internationale (FCI) on September 30, 1963.

Physical features
