History of the breed
Its versatility in hunting, the German Longhaired Pointing Dog has acquired it by inheriting the qualities of the varieties whose contributions have made it possible to shape the breed. One counts, among his ancestors, Dogs of Oysel, of water, of around, as well as brachets. It was towards the end of the 19th century that the first dog breeding German stop longhaired began. That of Baron von Schorlemer served as the basis for the development of current standards .
