Upon learning that a dog was still inside a barn ravaged by flames, a firefighter did not hesitate to put himself in danger to rescue him. His bravery saved the animal’s life and returned it safe and sound to its family.

As reported by ABC 17 News , the 25-year-old firefighter and his colleagues at the Lititz , Pa. Rescue Company were called in to urgently respond to a burning barn in Warwick last Saturday (December 19).

When firefighters arrived at the scene, they were told that the building’s owner’s dog , a black-robed Labrador Retriever , was still inside .

He did so, and a short while later he and the dog were outside , out of danger. The animal then reunited with its family , relieved to find that it was unharmed .

Fortunately, no injuries were to be deplored as a result of this fire. If the barn was totally charred and destroyed, the rescue of the dog is a great victory for Ryan Balmer and the other firefighters who participated in this intervention.
