History of the breed

the   Little Muenster Spaniel   descends from dogs Oysel long haired native of the Münster region and developed in the second half of the 19th century. Among them, we cite in particular the Red Heidebracke of Hanover, renamed Spaniel de la Lande, and the Dorster bred by Baron von Bevervörde-Lohburg. The Association of Small Pointing Dogs of Münster was founded in 1912. The first breed standard was established by Dr Friedrich Jungklaus 9 years later.
