The association 30 Millions d’Amis defends the fate of animals condemned to euthanasia in France in a short film directed by Maïwenn

Through a poignant spot signed Maïwenn, the 30 Millions d’Amis Foundation denounces the abandonment of companion animals and its tragic consequences, in particular euthanasia. A petition was also launched to support its 10 proposals addressed to the Minister of Agriculture.

The nearly 2-minute spot plunges us into the heavy and solemn atmosphere of a court . The trial in question is that of a dog . In the dock, he listens attentively to the facts with which he is accused, listed by the judge: having been faithful to his family for 7 years, having given all his affection without expecting anything in return, having comforted his master when he was ill. , have 3 days and 3 nights in the forest to wait for the return of its owner …

In a press release issued the same day, the 30 Million Friends Foundation insists that the plight of abandoned dogs and cats does not end with the loneliness , misunderstanding and dangers to which they are exposed when ‘they are on their own. The consequences are even more terrible, since at the end of the legal period of 8 days, these animals placed in the pound and unclaimed risk euthanasia if there is no room for them.

For Reha Hutin , President of the Foundation , “ denouncing this horror is not enough, we must directly address the causes ”. She thus announces that 30 Millions d’Amis addressed to the Minister of Agriculture and to 240 parliamentarians a series of 10 concrete proposals to fight against abandonment. She cites, among these measures, the ban on the sale of animals in pet shops or through classified ads .
