The best P names for a dog

The year 2019 is that of dog names beginning with the letter P. This is the standard to be respected if you wish to register your 4-legged companion and have it confirmed in the French Book of Origins.

Since 1926 and the establishment of this standard by the SCC (Société Centrale Canine), each year corresponds to a letter of the alphabet with which all the names of dogs born there must begin. The CCS has implemented this system both to harmonize dog registrations in its lists and to make the management of its registers easier. In addition, it is an obligation if you wish to register and, a fortiori, have your dog confirmed at the LOF .

1926 was therefore the year of the first letter, the A. The year 2018 was that of the letter O and 2019 is therefore the year of dog names that must begin with the letter P.

It should be noted that some letters were removed from the list by the SCC because they felt that it was too complicated to find matching names. The possibilities they offer are, in fact, too few. These letters are the K, the Q, the W, the X, the Y and the Z. The year 2020 will therefore not be that of dog names beginning with the letter Q , but we will go directly to the R.
