The gendarmes intervene for a theft and rescue 42 dogs and cats detained in deplorable conditions

By intervening in the context of an investigation into a dog theft, the Ornais gendarmes discovered around forty animals which were being held in poor conditions. The owner of the premises is said to be suffering from psychological disorders and has already been sentenced on several occasions.

Several animal protection associations had to be approached to take care of 42 dogs and cats rescued in Juvigny Val d’Andaine (61), as reported by Le Publicateur Libre . These are the Verson and Pervenchères SPAs , the Balou refuge , Un Espoir pour les sans Voix and L’Arche Ornaise in this case.

These animals were rescued by the gendarmes of the Domfront en Poiraie brigade on Tuesday (January 5) in a house in the Norman town. Initially, the soldiers went to the home in question after being alerted to a stolen dog . Moreover, the latter was found and returned to his family after their intervention.

The lady who held them is said to have Noah’s syndrome , a mental disorder consisting of accumulating pets in one’s home. At the moment, investigators have no evidence that she herself stole these animals. She may just have found and collected them . The gendarmes do not rule out any leads.
