Three stray dogs block a departmental road and sow panic, the gendarmes intervene!

Last weekend, the gendarmes had to intervene in numbers to put an end to a chaotic situation on a road in the Hérault, where 3 stray dogs had attacked several people.

On the morning of Saturday July 4, 2020, around 9:30 am, an incident involving a trio of dogs took place at the intersection of the D2 departmental and the northern access of the Tanes Basses area in Clermont-l’Hérault (34).

Canines were aggressive towards passers-by, as reported by Midi Libre . One of them even bit a person on the calf . The latter received the necessary care, then informed the local gendarmerie brigade. A complaint was filed, following which the soldiers opened an investigation and dispatched several men to the scene.

After setting up a security perimeter, the gendarmes, accompanied by members of the Villeneuve-lès-Maguelone SPA , tried to capture the dogs. One of them was fired from an electric pulse pistol before being recovered. A second went home owner, while the 3rd and last could not be found.

The dogs were in a stray situation. Their masters will have to explain it.

On the other hand, the incident and the intervention of the gendarmes and the SPA team resulted in the blocking , for 2 hours , of access to the motorway and to Lake Salagou via it. This considerably slowed down road traffic in the area, before returning to normal once the operation was completed.
