100 dogs and cats found in unsanitary conditions and rescued after the death of their owner

In Louisiana, a deceased woman left a hundred dogs and cats on their own. They lived in deplorable conditions. The animals were evacuated and taken care of.

A resident of Saint Francisville , in the State of Louisiana (southern United States) was discovered dead at her home by her caregiver. The living conditions of the owner of the premises were extremely bad . She raised many dogs and cats , hence the concern of residents who notified a local association.

The latter, whose refuge is in the parish of Pointe Coupée , believed to be dealing with about fifty canines , according to the information that had been transmitted to her. Arriving at the scene last weekend, the volunteers realized that there were many more animals to rescue.

They discovered a completely unsanitary property, with floors covered with urine and droppings. It is in this sad context that evolved 75 dogs and 30 cats , reports WBRZ . They suffer from various health problems , including scabies and fleas . They are also affected psychologically .

The sheriff’s office of the parish of Feliciana West has also indicated that no prosecution will be initiated.

The Pointe Coupée parish shelter has started receiving donations of money, products, food and accessories to help take care of the rescued animals, as announced on its Facebook page. In addition, veterinarians have visited to examine, wash and care for dogs and cats.
