The police intervene in an unsanitary housing and save 42 animals, including 33 German Mastiffs who lived in a single cage!

Detained in extremely bad conditions, around forty animals, the majority of which were dogs, were rescued and taken care of by an association in Washington DC An investigation for animal cruelty is underway.

Following an anonymous report, law enforcement intervened at a property in the southeastern neighborhoods of Washington DC , where they discovered 42 animals that were living in horrific health and safety conditions .

6 rabbits and 36 dogs , including 33 German Mastiffs , were thus rescued in collaboration with the Humane Rescue Alliance association, reports WTOP .

Despite their large size , the dogs were crammed into narrow cages and roamed amid their own droppings. The walls were covered with blood and excrement . The speakers were struck by the unbearable smell of the place. In addition, the animals had neither water nor food at their disposal.

Investigators found evidence that the dogs were intended for resale . They also discovered that one of the bitches was pregnant . Sadder still, remains of dead puppies were found in a refrigerator.

The investigation is continuing. Dogs and rabbits will be checked regularly by a veterinarian . The association launched an appeal for donations to help cover the costs related to the care and various needs of the animals.
