The Brazilian Terrier is a small to medium-sized dog, of both light and robust construction, with a body as long as it is high at the withers and therefore writable in a square. It differs from the short-haired Fox Terrier by its more rounded lines. The gaits of the Brazilian Terrier are characterized by elegant, flexible, rapid movements and close strides.

History of the breed
The origins of the Brazilian Terrier back to the 19th century and early next century, when young Brazilians doing their studies in Europe returned to the country with Terrier type dogs. The latter have adapted to life on Brazilian farms and crossbreeds have taken place with local dogs. This is how the breed was developed in Brazil by gradually setting its standards through structured breeding.

Physical features
His hair: short, fine and smooth, but covering the skin well. Even less thick on the head, ears, under the neck, as well as on the lower and inner surfaces of the forelimbs.
Its color: white with black, brown or blue markings above the eyes, on the sides of the muzzle, inside and at the edge of the ears.
Its head: triangular in shape, wide, well spaced between the ears, tapering towards the end of the muzzle. The skull is rounded and slightly flattened at the level of the forehead, the frontal furrow well developed, the pronounced stop, the nose of dark color, the nostrils well open, the strong and well defined muzzle, the lips tight, dry and well joined, the jaws well developed and scissor bite, cheeks dry and well developed.
Its ears: set wide apart, set on the sides at eye level, triangular in shape, semi-erect and ending in a point.
His eyes: rounded, wide open, rather large, slightly prominent, gray-blue, brown, green or blue, displaying a lively and alert expression.
His body: balanced, without heaviness and with rounded lines. The neck is of moderate length, the topline straight and firm, the withers well extended, the back short and muscular, the loins firm, the croup moderately sloping and well muscled, the chest of moderate width, the sternum long, the ribs well arched and the bottom line slightly raised towards the rear, but not whipped up.
Its tail: set low, short, rather thick and carried high, never rolled up on the back.

the Brazilian terrier is an alert, very active, intelligent and lively dog . He is naturally friendly and cheerful towards his master and his family. the Brazilian terrier is subject to a moderate moult during which it loses little hair. Its maintenance is very simple because of its small size and its short coat. He only calls for basic care, but which should not be neglected.
It is recommended to brush the dog once a week , to wash it only occasionally , to regularly inspect and clean its ears, skin, eyes and pads after each outing in the wild to detect and remove any debris or external parasites.
