In-extremis rescue of a dog locked in a washing machine, a complaint has been filed

Police and firefighters intervened at a couple from Pau to save a dog victim of violence. The animal had, in fact, been locked in a washing machine by the spouse of its owner. Fortunately, the canine miraculously survived. A complaint has been filed against the individual.

Louna, cross dog Jack Russell Terrier / West Highland White Terrier 2 years old, was rescued in extremis. As the website of the Fondation 30 Millions d’Amis relates, she was discovered and taken care of just in time by the emergency services at the home of her masters in Pau , in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques.

This is the spouse of the owner of Louna who had placed the dog in the washing machine and put the unit on. Warned by the firefighters , the police intervened and one of them stopped the machine , then brought out the quadruped.

Louna was examined by Agnès Caillard , veterinarian with the Foundation . She indicates that she was in a state of hypothermia , and suffered from pulmonary edema as well as other lesions: hematomas, bruises, corneal ulcers.

Her owner assures us that the bitch is doing better since this terrible ordeal, even if she still has traces of it .

She filed a complaint against the husband, who will therefore have to answer to the courts. It will be able to count on the support of the 30 Millions d’Amis Foundation , but also of the Brigitte Bardot Foundation , which joined as a civil party in this case.

If found guilty, the perpetrator of these acts faces 2 years in prison and a 30,000 euros fine . Additional penalties can also be pronounced, such as the prohibition to keep an animal.
