History of the breed

Physical features

His coat: long (around 10 cm), very thick, flat, associated with an abundant undercoat. Shorter on the head, the anterior edge of the ears and the anterior part of the limbs. Particularly long and bushy around the neck, forming a mane and a ruff.
Its color: iron gray with, preferably, a darker tone on the back. Clearer on the stomach and limbs.
His head: rather large compared to the body, without coarseness or finesse. Wide at the ears, tapering towards the nose. The skull is well developed, lean. The stop is moderately marked, the muzzle moderately long and the lips thick. Presence of a dark mask extending from the muzzle, with a gray or sand hair on the back.
Its ears: V-shaped, moderately high set, moderately long, falling flat against the cheeks and with the front edges folded outwards.
His eyes: slightly apart, almond-shaped, chestnut to dark brown.
His body: well developed and of medium length. The topline is horizontal or slightly oblique, the withers long and moderately high, the back straight, muscular and broad, the croup slightly inclined towards the attachment of the tail, the chest well developed, the belly slightly raised and rolled up.
Its tail: solid attachment, thick at its base, saber-shaped ending with a slight hook. Trimmed with a long hair and worn low when at rest. Raised up to the level of the back when the dog is awake.
