History of the breed
The Swiss Hound is a breed with very ancient origins . It was represented in Roman times (Helvétie) in particular in a mosaic discovered in the current Avenches, which then bore Aventicum. Popular with hunters and Italian farmers (15th century) and French (18th century), the Swiss Hound a total of 5 varieties; in addition to those mentioned above, there was also the Thurgau scent, which has since disappeared.
