The gendarmes and the SPA intervened this week at a farmer established near Dieppe. He owned dozens of hunting dogs, which he bred illegally and in poor conditions, as well as wild boars.

In Penly , in Seine-Maritime, an illegal breeding of hunting dogs was dismantled on Tuesday (December 10, 2019). The owner of the premises will be prosecuted for this offense, but also for ill-treatment and illegal possession of wild species , as reported by Les Informations Dieppoises . In this farmer were, in fact, discovered 6 wild boars , in addition to the thirty dogs .

The latter, of different races, lived in appalling conditions . The farm owner usually gave them rotten meat to eat. Skin disorders have also been observed in canines, which are specifically used for wild boar hunting . The wild boars, in fact, were not treated better than the dogs.

24 of them were entrusted to the SPA refuge in Etalondes . After examinations and care, and once they are deemed sufficiently ready, they should be available for adoption or offered to foster families. As for the suidae, it will be up to the O NCF (National Office for Hunting and Wildlife) to look into their case.
