The 10,000 signatories of a petition launched with the aim of opening a space for dogs in Antibes were heard. The City has, in fact, decided to allocate part of the Exflora park to their four-legged companions, where they can move without a leash.
Many dog owners living in Antibes (06) had expressed their wish to have an area where their 4-legged companions could play freely and without having to be kept on a leash . A petition had been launched for this purpose, collecting no less than 10,000 signatures . This initiative has finally borne fruit , as reported by Nice Matin .
The City of Antibes has indeed announced that part of the Exflora park, located not far from the port of Golfe Juan , will be devoted to dogs . The municipality of Maralpine has indicated that development work has started to adapt the space to the activity and that the opening should take place at the beginning of next March.
The area for dogs covers 1,500 m2. It will be equipped with bag dispensers for collecting dog droppings, as well as benches . In addition, the pines will be treated against processionary caterpillars , which are dangerous for dogs; these lepidoptera are endowed with tiny irritating, even toxic hairs.
Access to this area, located near the railway line, will be via the Allée de la Mediterranee, the rest of the Exflora park remaining forbidden to dogs. As for the opening hours, they are the same as for the whole site.

Except for those first and 2nd categories, which must be muzzled and leashed, dogs can be detached.
