Happle, dog of the gendarmerie, saves a missing person for 2 days

On Monday, Happle scored his 20th rescue missing person. The bitch of the gendarmerie of Gers has, in fact, found a septuagenarian who had been lost for 2 days.

Happle is an 8 year old dog from Saint Hubert. The breed is known for its efficient flair and tracking performance . Happle , who is part of the PSIG dog team (gendarmerie surveillance and intervention platoon) Saber d ‘ Auch , in the Gers, can be proud of her career. With her dog handler , Warrant Officer David Robin , she had 19 rescues of missing persons until Monday (March 16, 2020), the day she had the opportunity to add a 20 th success , as reported by 20 Minutes .

The person saved by Happle had not been found since the day before . On Saturday March 14, in fact, this 70-year-old woman went to the Aude Pyrenees in search of wild asparagus. She hadn’t given any sign of life since.

The searches carried out on Saturday and Sunday yielded nothing. It was absolutely necessary to locate the septuagenarian quickly, because the more time passed, the greater the risk to her health.

This is why on Monday, we called in the military dog unit. The duo formed by Happle and Warrant Officer Robin was quick to honor his reputation. At the end of 2 km of tracking, the dog was able to find the missing one . She was hypothermic , but well conscious . She was taken care of by the emergency services.

In addition, the female police officer and her master appeared in a documentary broadcast last Friday (March 13) on C8 .
